For the first three turns, the Terlard just kept using endure, allowing Edison to spam take down, doing some damage (well, except on the third turn, when he missed).

Hey! Sorry for the long gap between updates I'm on vacation, and didn't have much time to update my challenge runs.Īnyway, when the Terland attacked, I led with Edison. One super potion later, Tesla got poisoned, but managed to hold on long enough to water gun the Tofurang to death, earning Wattson the Bright Gem Badge! Tune in next time for the battle against the rouge Terland in Comet Cave! Tesla managed to do somewhat more damage, as he had better defenses thanks to a defense curl and Tofurang got immobilized by paralysis twice. Eventually, I realized that Edison wouldn't survive and used a revive I had received earlier to revive Tesla. Ohm managed to get off one more tackle (stupid clumsy fingers) before Tofurang finished him with a poison fang, leading to me sending out my last and newest team member: Edison the Flaaffy! Edison managed to paralyze Tofurang thanks to static, leading to an epic standoff between the two as Tofurang spammed poison fang and Edison spammed thundershock (and Wattson used a super potion and an antidote on Edison).
All that remained was Davern's ace: Tofurang. Fortunately, the hax gods smiled upon me and immobilized Grozard once out of the next two turns, buying Ohm just enough time to take it out with a tackle. unfortunately, it still managed to get off a bulldoze. I sent out Ohm, hoping that he would fare a little better due to his speed, and he managed to outspeed it and land a critical hit with a tackle, finishing it off! Davern sent out his Grozard next, but fortunately, it was a girl, so Ohm was able to infatuate it.
but to no avail, as Modrille got lucky with its magnitudes and managed to wipe out Tesla in two hits. Since Tesla only had one hit point left, I quickly healed him up with a super potion. but he managed to hang on with just one hit point! He then countered with a water gun, which landed a critical hit and took a huge chunk off of Modrille's health. Modrille used a magnitude, and it registered as a seven, doing massive damage to Tesla. Needless to say, no amount of potions could save the Barewl from Tesla's relentless barrage of water guns! Barewl fainted, and Davern sent out his Modrille. It wasn't too threatening all it managed to do was get off one headbutt before Davern began spamming potions. I led with Tesla, and Davern led with a Barewl. Well, Davern, the second Gym Leader, was pretty tough. anyway, with our first badge in hand, it's time to get out there and smash some rocks! Tesla managed to paralyze the Dunsparce thanks to static, allowing him to outspeed it and finish it off with three water guns, with just 5 hit points to spare! And with that, Wattson earns the Normal Badge while Maria contemplates selling her gym. I decided to send out my trusty starter: Tesla. Now, the last time I fought her and totally didn't rage at and not write about it steamrolled me, so I made sure to have Ohm growl at it four times in a row while he just kept taking a rollout, and then he proceeded to get off a few tackles before Dunsparce took him out with a defense-curl boosted rollout. All that stood in my way was her ace: Dunsparce. Fortunately, the infatuation decided to kick in for two of the next three turns, buying Ohm enough turns to take out her Chyinmunk.
Since Ohm only had four hit points at this point, I quickly healed him with a potion, and then promptly had to use one again two turns later because the infatuation did jack squat. Needless to say, I almost instantly had Ohm use attract on the Chyinmunk (I had found the TM prior to entering the gym). With the Owten down, Maria sent out her own Chyinmunk. A couple turns, one potion from Maria, and a critical hit on tackle later, and the Owten went down. Owten just kept using peck, so I had Ohm spam tackle and prayed that Owten would faint first. I led with Ohm, and Maria led with an Owten. Well, the first gym battle against the Normal-type Gym Leader Maria was close, but I think it went pretty well. Dang it! Okay, I'll do it for WAHAHAHAH 2: The Electric Boogaloo.
